Mesmo na era digital, com arquivos e aplicativos facilitando o acesso à música, os vinis voltaram com tudo. As capas, que poderiam ser apenas uma proteção para o conteúdo, abrem espaço para a expressão de artistas visuais e, muitas vezes, tornam-se tão importantes quanto o álbum em si.

Algumas vezes, inclusive, podem até custa mais que o disco – dizem por aí que a capa de Blue Monday, do grupo de rock dos anos 80 New Order, foi tão cara que a gravadora perdia dinheiro a cada cópia.
